HOW TO USE IT

Three steps

01

Add it

Indicators → Volume & Liquidity → Fixed Range VP.

02

Click two candles

The start and the end of the move. The profile draws between them.

03

Tune it

Buckets: 60 by default. Value area on or off. Re-pick any time.

Replay first, then draw. Profiling a finished chart and judging how price respected it is hindsight.
WHERE TO ANCHOR IT

Four ranges worth profiling

One swing

Low to high of one impulse leg.

A consolidation

The range before a breakout.

A news spike

The release candle and its move.

FAQ

Fixed range volume profile — FAQ

How do you use a fixed range volume profile?

+

Add it, click the candle where your range starts and the one where it ends. Use its point of control and value area as support and resistance and watch how price reacts on its return.

What are the best settings?

+

The default 60 rows suits most ranges. More rows for a long range, fewer for a short one. Keep the value area on unless you only want the shape.

Fixed range or visible range?

+

A visible range profile changes as you scroll. A fixed range profile stays on the candles you chose, so its levels do not move.

Is the fixed range volume profile free?

+

Yes. It works on every plan and all 105 markets. The volume is Dukascopy tick and liquidity activity, not exchange volume.
